English Language Challenges

About my experience learning English at University, I can say that it was very different from school. The most innovative for me was the Blogs. Share our opinions with our classmates and comment their blogs was a very interesting experience. I learnt a lot of new vocabulary, but I need to learn more architectonic vocabulary. When I was at school we have to read books on English, lucky for me, at university we didn’t do that, because I barely have time haha.

My weakness at English is Speaking. I can’t pronounce well, and sometimes I get tongued-tied. Also there are too many pronunciations for a single letter, like the "a" and I get confused of which one to choose. I think that the only solution to this issues is just to speak more in English.

Outside the English class, I’m using the English to watch cooking recipes on YouTube and ask them when I don’t understand something. When I'm looking for a ideas for classes many time this are in English and I have to read a lot. I don’t often speak in English, just when it is necessary, for example, to help a tourist on street or to speak when someone doesn't speak Spanish, English is always the best choice.

I know that my English need to improve a lot, that’s why I’m planning to take another course later, maybe outside the University. I want to know the planet and English will be my best friend doing it. I also want to do a postgraduate course in Japan, UK or US and I need obligatorily improve my English.

·                      What is your opinion about buying instead of adopting pets? In my opinion adopt pets is a very nice experience. I have adopted two dogs and they are the most loving pets I ever had. I don’t think that we have to condemn people that buy pets, but they are losing an very enriching  experience. My career

I started to study architecture after two years in college courses at the Universidad de Chile. There I took a lot of courses and it helped me to decide enter in Architecture. I wanted to study engineering too but after some courses I realized that it doesn’t really like to me. I love math but engineering’s math is so hard haha. When I started architecture's career I wasn’t convinced about it, but now I can say that I don’t regret to enter here. The most attractive of the career was that the architecture is everywhere. Where you live, where you walk, where you take your dog for a walk and here I can help to do it more comfortable to people. In addition, I thought (and keep thinking) that through the architecture of a zone you can discover many things like the history, the ideology, the priorities, etc. I chose the Universidad de Chile because I did the College here and It university have an important social role in the Country. Postgraduate Studies

In the future I would like to do a postgraduate course related to wood’s construction. I want to do it because I think that wood is a very important material in the country and we are not taking advantage of it. We build almost everything in concrete, but we have good examples of wood’s architecture, like the churches from Chiloe. I want to do it course in Japan, because there exists a huge culture of wood’s architecture. There are important architects like Kengo Kuma and their buildings.   There I would like to learn to write, read and speak Japanese, I’ve heard that write and read is especially hard. There I want to have a subject that teach to work the wood in different ways. I would like to have part-time courses, that way I could know well Japan and have some part-time work to support my life there.
